Artist
Shri
Having spent some years as resident tabla player with one of India's top rock bands Indus Creed, he has toured internationally, most notably to Los Angeles and has also supported Bon Jovi.
However, it is on his debut album that Shri's true genius for sound has really emerged and he elegantly bridges the yawning chasm that exists between players and composers. His diverse experiences are absorbed in his compositions, rolling drum'n'bass, sublime filmic trances and funky grooves which travel the length and breadth of deepest India to deepest India to deepest South London. Truly new Asian music.
The album is entitled Drum The Bass and is produced by Nitin Sawhney who has made two seminal albums for Outcaste Records: Migration (Caste CD 1) and Displacing The Priest (Caste CD 2).
